On day 7 post infection, HSV-specific, IFN-γ-secreting T cells from the spleen, vagina/cervix, and lumbosacral ganglia and the adjacent spinal cord were quantified using a pair of previously described anti-guinea pig IFN-γ -specific monoclonal antibodies [27] in an IFN-γ ELISPOT assay.
