In the present paper, four key signaling proteins (ALDOA, PRPS1, RPIA and TALDO) in the pentose phosphate pathway were up-regulated in phosphorylation level in the selenate-treated N2aSW cells compared with the untreated cells, indicating that selenate may also intervene in the progress of AD via the pentose phosphate pathway. Here, ALDOA is linked to Alzheimer disease.
