Using multivariate testing (Table 3), which includes all relevant clinicopathological parameters as well as all angiogenic cytokines and MMPs, high expression of tumor-derived PDGF-BB and high expression of tumor-derived MMP-1 were independent prognostic markers for cancer-specific survival (PDGF-BB: Odds ratio: 0.265, CI: 0.101-0.693, p = 0.007; MMP-1: Odds ratio: 0.347, CI: 0.121-0.996, p = 0.049). This evidence concerns the gene MMP1 and neoplasm.
