For the purpose of specifically predicting later-life dementia, the Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Aging and Dementia (CAIDE) model, incorporating demographic variables (e.g., age, sex, education), midlife CVD risk factors (e.g., total cholesterol, systolic BP, body-mass index (BMI), physical activity) and/or Apolipoprotein E4 (ApoE4) status, was developed.
