Two corin variants (Q568P and T555I) in perfect linkage disequilibrium (LD), i.e. describing in reality a single minor corin gene allele defined by the presence of both rare alleles I555 and P568 on the same parental chromosome, and more common in African-Americans than in Caucasians are associated with hypertension [14]. This evidence concerns the gene CORIN and hypertensive disorder.
