CD44 and infection: Analysis of the frequencies of the CD44+CD62L−Ly6C+, TCM and CD44+CD62L−Ly6C− subsets within the 2W:I-Ab tetramer+ cells over the course of infection revealed that CD44+CD62L−Ly6C+ T cells accounted for 60% of parasite-specific cells throughout the chronic stage of infection (9–37 weeks) (Fig. 6G).
