The TENC1 gene (officially named tensin like C1 domain containing phosphatase tensin 2) has not previously been identified as a tumor suppressor gene although it has been shown to physically interact with DLC1 gene products (a well‐established tumor suppressor gene in liver cancer) through which it contributes to growth suppression (Chan et al., 2009). The gene discussed is TNS2; the disease is neoplasm.
