In Fig. 6c, OVX surgery significantly decreased SOD2 activity by ~2-fold, the E2 treatment normalized this effect, and the SOD2 infection (OVX/E2) largely increased SOD2 activity by ~1.5-fold compared to control group (Sham/CTL), while the SOD2 knockdown (shSOD2) significantly decreased SOD2 expression by ~4-fold regardless of the E2 presence, indicating that the infection of SOD2 lentivirus is efficient in modulating the SOD2 activity. This evidence concerns the gene SOD2 and infection.
