Vildagliptin is a selective inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) and has been demonstrated to reduce the fasting and postprandial glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, possibly by inhibiting the inactivation of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) (6–8). Here, GCG is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
