SLPI and urinary bladder neoplasm: Bouchard et al.[11] reported that SLPI expression is highly upregulated in pancreatic, papillary thyroid, uterine cervix, endometrial, and ovarian cancer; by contrast, SLPI is underexpressed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, bladder tumors, and some breast carcinomas, although overexpression of this protein correlates with more invasive forms of breast carcinoma.
