Interestingly, it is demonstrated, for the first time, the presence of two monocytic CD14+CD11b+CD33+CD15+HLA-DR−Lin− and CD14+CD11b+CD33+CD15−HLA-DR−Lin− and a granulocytic CD14−CD11b+CD33+CD15+HLA-DR−Lin− subpopulation of MDSCs associated with the clinical outcome in NSCLC patients (Table 4), although there was no difference in the frequency of the distinct subpopulations of MDSCs according to the histology, stage, and subsequent chemotherapy treatment (data not shown).
