DAPK1 methylation may be associated with the loss of DAPK1 activity, as increased methylation in the DAPK1 promoter region has been detected in various types of cancer, such as renal (20) and cervical cancers (21), B cell lymphoma (22), myelodysplastic syndrome, acute myeloblastic leukemia (23) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) (24–26). This evidence concerns the gene DAPK1 and myelodysplastic syndrome.
