Cloning insertions from these SB-induced gliomas identified Sfi1, Csf1, Mkln1, Vps13a and Fli1 as common insertion sites (CISs) which are chromosomal regions that are insertionally mutated in more tumors than would be expected by random chance and represent candidate glioma genes [4]. The gene discussed is SFI1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
