As we hypothesize a role of receptors of the innate immune system in Hepatitis C associated vascular inflammation and as we could demonstrate a role of TLR3 in the mediation of endothelial inflammation and production of adhesion molecules, we next tested the effect of a stimulation with HCV-RNA containing cryoprecipitates from a patient with an Hepatitis C-associated cryoglobulinemia on the expression of selected cytokines, chemokines and adhesion molecules. The gene discussed is TLR3; the disease is hepatitis C virus infection.
