AKT1 and familial dilated cardiomyopathy: Treatment with GW3965 restored Akt activation and inhibited MAP kinases phosphorylation in the diabetic myocardium, suggesting that differential regulation of Akt and MAP kinases activation are likely responsible for the aforementioned cardioprotective effects of the LXR agonist against DCM; further studies are warranted to define in more detail the complex mechanisms involved in regulation of oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and the cardioprotective effect of GW3965.
