Within the host of GATA3 target genes we uncovered, a signature of three genes (BCL2, DACH1 and THSD4) separates patients into ER groups, underlining deregulation of apoptotic signaling (negatively regulated by BCL2 and DACH1), ER signaling and cell cycle control (regulated by DACH1 [38]-[40],[42],[43]) as possible major processes early in luminal breast cancer development. The gene discussed is GATA3; the disease is breast carcinoma.
