We find that MEK inhibition (using AZD6244), which reduced ERK phosphorylation, had no impact on MNK kinase activity in DLBCL, evidenced by no change in eIF4E1-S209 phosphorylation at any time point tested, ranging from 45 min to 72 h (Fig. 2a and Supplementary Figs 1a,2). This evidence concerns the gene EIF4E and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
