C/EBPα is known to be a tumor suppressor in acute myelogenous leukemia [reviewed in [7], [8]], and is reportedly down-regulated in human epithelial cancers of the breast [9], lung [10], liver [11], head and neck [12], endometrium [13], and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the skin [14]. This evidence concerns the gene CEBPA and squamous cell carcinoma.
