Gender (p = 0.02), country (p < 0.001), race (p = 0.007), prior tuberculosis (TB) (p < 0.001), hemoglobin (p = 0.008), albumin (p < 0.0001) and log10 CRP (p = 0.006) were significant risk factors for baseline serum selenium deficiency (Table 1).
