Anemia (OR: 1.89, 95% CI: 3.11–1.14), lower concentrations of albumin (OR: 4.46, 95% CI: 2.52–7.86), and higher levels of log10 CRP (OR: 1.79, 95% CI: 1.20–2.65) were also associated with greater serum selenium deficiency. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is selenium deficiency.
