Results from this analysis indicated that ghrelin (HR 1.02; 95% CI 1.01 – 1.03; x2: 5.81; p < 0.0001), leptin (HR 0.94; 95% CI 0.92 – 0.96; x2: 4.65; p 0.0001), the presence of metastatic disease (HR 2.67; 95% CI 1.45 – 4.91; x2: 3.86; p 0.001) and chronic kidney disease (HR 1.97; 95% CI 1.24 – 3.12; x2: 2.14; p 0.003), remained significantly associated with mortality. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and metastatic neoplasm.
