Some of the WHO standards adapted to the Ugandan context include: i) Provision of cotrimoxazole prophylactic therapy for all people living with HIV; ii) Routine screening of active tuberculosis (TB) among people living with HIV; iii) Assessment of ART eligibility using WHO clinical eligibility criteria or CD4 cell count; iv) Provision of standard ART regimen for eligible HIV clients and v) ART adherence monitoring. Here, CD4 is linked to tuberculosis.
