FAAH and astrocytoma (excluding glioblastoma): Recently, by describing an inhibitory effect of the fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor methyl arachidonyl fluorophosphates (MAFP) (De Petrocellis et al., 1997; Deutsch et al., 1997; Martin et al., 2000; Glaser et al., 2003) on the AEA uptake of neuroblastoma and astrocytoma cells, the importance of FAAH activity for AEA uptake was demonstrated.
