Recently, by describing an inhibitory effect of the fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor methyl arachidonyl fluorophosphates (MAFP) (De Petrocellis et al., 1997; Deutsch et al., 1997; Martin et al., 2000; Glaser et al., 2003) on the AEA uptake of neuroblastoma and astrocytoma cells, the importance of FAAH activity for AEA uptake was demonstrated. This evidence concerns the gene FAAH and neuroblastoma.
