Changes in the peripheral levels of chemokines such as CCL5/RANTES (acronym for regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted), CCL2/MCP-1, CCL3/MIP-1α (macrophage inflammatory protein-1 α), and CXCL8/IL-8 have been demonstrated in PD in comparison with controls [14, 15].
