The results of this study confirmed the effect of the IGF system on the development of cervical cancer involving oncogenic types of HPV, and also revealed that a high ratio of IGF-1/IGFBP-3 was associated with an increase in chronic HPV infection (adjusted hazard ratio, −0.14; 95% confidence interval, 0.04–0.57). The gene discussed is IGF1; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
