Activation of glioma-associated oncogene homolog 1 (Gli1), which was a nuclear transcription factor overexpressed in human glioma [34], enhanced the expression of multiple important Gli1 directly regulated oncoproteins significantly, including CyclinD1/D2 [35], Foxm1 [36], Bcl-2 [37], and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) related proteins [38]. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is glioma.
