This finding is consistent with Imai et al. [18], who reported that a GnRH agonist triggered apoptosis in a single suspension of stromal and glandular epithelial endometrial cells from patients with endometriosis and a recent study reporting that GnRH-a stimulates apoptosis in endometrial cells from patients with symptomatic myomas and this effect could, at least in part, account for the therapeutic action of GnRHa [19]. This evidence concerns the gene GNRH1 and endometriosis.
