Although HPV-positive SiHa cells did not show high KIAA1199 protein levels, KIAA1199 messenger RNA levels nevertheless decreased on BCL-3 deficiency in these cells (Supplementary Fig. 2A), thus demonstrating that BCL-3 drives KIAA1199 expression in all tested HPV-positive cervical cancer-derived cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene CEMIP and cervical carcinoma.
