IFNGR1 and influenza: The interferon signaling pathway was completely attenuated in patients with severe influenza (only one gene was activated: IFNGR1) whereas the pathway was strongly up-regulated in patients with moderate (P = 10−2.8, ratio 0.36, 13 genes) and mild (P = 10−4.8, ratio = 0.33, 12 genes) outcomes (Figure 3).
