Loss-of-function TET2 mutations occur in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms, MDS and AML (Shih et al., 2012a), while upregulation of TET2-targeting miRNAs, such as miR-7, miR-29b, miR-29c, miR-101, and miR-125b, occur in AML patients with wild-type TET2 (Cheng et al., 2013). The gene discussed is TET2; the disease is myeloproliferative neoplasm.
