Indeed, mice with genetic ablation of α7 nAChR present with PV deficits [43] and mice genetically modified to mimic the human 15q13.3 microdeletion show dysfunctional gamma oscillatory activity [56] suggesting a potential convergence of α7 nAChR and PV centered mechanisms in cognitive function and psychiatric disorders where Lynx1 is well positioned to mediate these functions.
