This conclusion is supported by the observation that the synthetic TLR2/TLR1 ligand, PAM3CSK4, causes only weak activation of nfkbiz and il6. In contrast, stimulation with the TLR2/TLR6 ligand Fsl-1 leads to strong activation of nfkbiz and il6 comparable to infection with MC58siaD−, suggesting that diacetylated lipopeptides binding to TLR2/TLR6 complexes are involved in gene regulation in HIBCPP cells by Nm. Here, IL6 is linked to infection.
