While hypermethylation-related repression of the HSPA2 gene in primary bladder tumors has been reported (Costa et al. 2010; Reinert et al. 2011), others found the HSPA2 gene to be highly expressed in bladder cancer cell lines and in primary urothelial tumors (Garg et al. 2010b). The gene discussed is HSPA2; the disease is urinary bladder carcinoma.
