Cancer is generally considered to originate from cancer stem cells, which are more resistant to anti-cancer therapies, leading to cancer relapse.45 Considering the regulatory role of Lxn in hematopoietic stem cells, we hypothesize that Lxn can be a promising molecular target, in combination with conventional anti-cancer therapy, to improve treatment efficacy and perhaps eradicate cancer stem cells. The gene discussed is LXN; the disease is cancer.
