p63 is known to regulate key epithelial proteins such as cadherins and cell adhesion molecules.58 Moreover, p53 is an important inhibitor of EMT59 and most PCa express wild-type p53.2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Therefore an inhibitor of p53 such as iASPP could play an important role in facilitating prostate epithelial cells to undergo EMT. This evidence concerns the gene TP63 and posterior cortical atrophy.
