NFKB1 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma: R. serra is famous for its antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities, and effusanin E, a compound from natural herb, inhibited NPC cells via disrupting NF-κB signaling and induced apotosis in NPC cells, meanwhile, effusanin E significantly suppressed tumor growth in a xenograft mouse model of NPC cells without obvious toxicity, moreover, the expression of p50 and COX-2 were downregulated in the tumors of nude mice, which are consistent with cell study, so these findings evidenced the antitumor activities of R. serra.
