T cell infiltration in the omentum has been widely reported in response to obesity [40]–[42] and although some of these studies identified these T cells as CD4+ T cells [41], posterior studies performed in mice revealed that large numbers of CD8+ T cells infiltrated obese AT, whereas the numbers of CD4+ T cells were diminished. Here, CD8A is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
