Analysing the results of the triple combination, we observed that the use of two positive markers (AMACR/MCT2) with one negative marker (p63 or 64βE12) instead of one positive marker with two negative markers improves the sensitivity to detect PCa, as well as the negative predictive value, decreasing the possibility of diagnosing benign prostate tissue as PCa. Here, SLC16A7 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
