This is in agreement with the enhanced activity and contribution of VSM BKCa channels to the maintained EDH-mediated responses of coronary arterioles recently reported in a rat model of high-fat diet-induced obesity [31], which suggests that up-regulation of KCa channels is a mechanism to preserve coronary vasodilatation in obesity. Here, CSN3 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
