Second, the expression levels of MALAT1 between cancer patients and cancer-free subjects were statistically different; however, the difference between adenocarcinoma (AdCa) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) was not significant, indicating that the expression level of MALAT1 has little diagnostic value for discriminating between AdCa and SCC. Here, MALAT1 is linked to autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia.
