Despite the normal placental growth and morphological parameters observed in pregnancies occurring in LDLR KO mice with hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis, the mean body weight of fetuses harvested from these females was lower than that of fetuses from chow-fed mice at the three gestational ages analyzed (Figures 3(a) and 3(b)). The gene discussed is LDLR; the disease is Hypercholesterolemia.
