S100B and Stroke: It was concluded that the initial APR was highly correlated with 6-month stroke recovery and this approache was in correlation with standard clinical predictors. 24 In another study, inflammatory markers such as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and the brain damage marker S100B were demonstrated to show significantly different time courses depending on stroke outcome.
