In previous experiments, our results revealed that the forced expression of gC1qR induced mitochondrial dysfunction (including the production of ROS, cellular calcium ion influx, and decrease of mitochondrial membrane potential) in cervical squamous carcinoma cell lines (Additional file 1: Figure S1), these findings suggested that the gC1qR play a negative role in the survival of cervical cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene C1QBP and cervical cancer.
