BQ123 has been found to block increased production of O2− in ET-1-induced oxidative stress in the arteries and veins of patients with coronary artery disease (Cerrato et al. 2012), has been associated with a significant increase in the concentration of total glutathione and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity after application (Briyal et al. 2011), as well as a significant increase in the activity of the antioxidant enzymes SOD and catalase in cases of ET-1-induced oxidative stress (Ozdemir et al. 2006). This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and coronary artery disorder.
