Using a porcine sepsis model, Persson et al. (2014) report a significant decrease of HBP plasma level, as well as reduced pulmonary oedema, in animals treated with tezosentan compared to those who received ET-1 or the ETB receptor agonist sarafotoxin 6c, both of which caused a dose-dependent increase in HBP levels similar to those observed in sepsis. This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and Sepsis.
