A cell viability assay using small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) specific for the shRNA-targeting candidate genes revealed that ribosomal protein L31 (RPL31), histone cluster 1 H2bd (HIST1H2BD), and ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 1 (ADAMTS1) were involved in the proliferation of bicalutamide-resistant prostate cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene H2BC5 and prostate cancer.
