TACR1 and alcohol dependence: Another clinical study examining the efficacy of NK1R antagonist, aprepitant, as a treatment for PTSD comorbid with alcohol dependence did not observe any treatment effect on PTSD symptoms and subjective and physiological responses to stress or alcohol cues, but fMRI showed a robust potentiation in the ventromedial PFC, suggesting that NK1R antagonism may be beneficial for alcoholic patients with PTSD to some extent (Kwako et al., 2014).
