IL5 and Increased total eosinophil count: Pathologic analyses indicated that PLCε deficiency inhibits Th2 cell-mediated responses, which include eosinophilia and elevated production of Th2 signature cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 (Figure 2), suggesting that PLCε plays a crucial role in regulation of Th2 cell-mediated inflammation although its significance in other pathological conditions of Th2 cell-mediated immunity remains to be clarified.
