This observation was consistent with the outcomes of recent studies suggesting that the adiponectin/leptin ratio was a more sensitive and reliable marker of insulin resistance in relevance to adiponectin or leptin alone in type 2 diabetes and in subjects without hyperglycemia [31], [33]–[35], and it is related to the metabolic risk susceptibility in men [31].
