Given the recognized importance of IL-10 in pregnancy, several polymorphic sites in its regulatory regions including -1082A/G (rs1800896), -819C/T (rs1800871) and -592C/A (rs1800872) have been widely investigated for their potential correlation with preeclampsia because of their reported capability of altering the gene expression level of IL-10[27–30]. Here, IL10 is linked to preeclampsia.
