Our data showed that both infected DCs from the cell line DC2.4 or primary DCs (BMDCs) that received the signal to induce their maturation (LPS) after infection by L. mexicana promatigotes, were not able to mature and showed lower expression of MHC class I and class II and co-stimulatory molecules, such as B7.1 and B7.2. This evidence concerns the gene CD80 and infection.
