These targets include: MEF2C, a gene known to play a critical role in cardiovascular development and cardiac hypertrophy; CDK6, a member of the cyclin D signaling pathway the inhibition of which impairs cardiac hypertrophy in both invitro and invivo; and TLCD2, a gene identified in GWAS analysis as a strong candidate associated with LV mass [54]–[56]. This evidence concerns the gene MEF2C and cardiac hypertrophy.
